Warm-Up:   
The teacher welcomes the students. Today a Colombian coffee trader has been invited. The idea is not only to see the English language as a school subject but the different uses that it gives, in this case Business English.

 Previous Knowledge: 
Each student have to present and thus know where each of them come from.

Presentation: 
The guest trader makes his presentation. He is going to talk about the importance of learning English and the advantages and benefits that the English has given in his business.

Practice: 
Students have a short time to prepare their questions.

Production: 
Each student has the opportunity to ask the guest businessman questions. There they can clarify doubts and get answers to their concerns.

Assessment:
Each student will be graded for his or her ability to communicate.
5 min

Assignment: 
Practice their pronunciation and continue with the proposed topics at the English level.

The teacher asks that, among all students, read the following article from the BBC about Hikikomori: Why are so many Japanese men refusing to leave their rooms?

Production: 
All students give their opinion on the subject. Each one has three minutes to talk by question.
What is your opinion on this topic?
As a parent, what would you do if you had a child in this situation?
What would be your advice for young people with this problem?

Assessment:

Observations:


I really liked these lesson plans because in them the students learned that the foreign language is not only for academic subjects. One of these plans was based on the use of language in business and the advantages offered by language proficiency. The other plan I liked because the students knew about a Japanese social problem called Hikikomori. They compared it with the personal situations of each and gave their point of view and expressed their feelings on this issue.
