Who am I as a teacher?

My Teaching Philosophy

In my classes I did not want to focus on grammar and orthographic rules of the language. Many times these topics in a new language becomes boring and they do not provide meaningful learning to students. I based my classes on different topics. Seeking that in the classes the students learned, not grammar and orthographic rules, but they put their knowledge to the test and acquired new vocabulary in each one of the subjects. My classes looked for the students to express their ideas and feelings about the different topics. With them I also looked for each of the students to lose the fear of expressing themselves, since it is one of the great difficulties that the learners of a new language present.

My Beliefs About My Teaching

I believe that my classes were significant for the students because the topics presented were diverse and these, in a certain way, forced the students to look inside for the right words for each class. At the end of each session I made corrections about grammar and the use of the language in the different expressions they used in the class.

What I Learned About Teaching In Online Environments?

Information and communication technologies, ICT, are very good because they help a rapid interaction between people from different places. It helped me a lot to make the meetings but on several occasions the connection is not good and valuable information is lost in the sessions. I learned that they are good work tools but that you do not have to trust them because at any moment they can fail and you can lose all the work done.

My Principles About Teaching Speaking Online

Online speaking teaching should not be based on grammar and orthographic rules.

Online speaking teaching can be based on specific purposes such as business.

Online speaking teaching should exploit the potential of students with different ways of expressing themselves.

Online speaking teaching adds new vocabulary to previous knowledge and thus strengthen the good use of the language.

Online speaking teaching should have a trusting environment where students feel at ease and lose their fear of expressing themselves.
